Sunday saw the Prudential Ride London bike race come charging through Surrey, into Kingston, up through Wimbledon and onto Buckingham Palace to finish in the Mall.
Although it was a great event with thousands lining the streets, it presented huge logistical nightmares for our Caregivers getting to their clients. Many relying on in care at home as a lifeline to independence!
Many Caregivers decided to abandoned their cars and took to their bikes to get to clients home.
Gladys, pictured, said " I tried to drive through Wimbledon but realised very quickly that the police were not going to let me through, even knowing the type of work I was doing, they weren't making any exceptions, so I turned around and went home and got my bike out and sailed through the village!"
We are now thinking of introducing Home Instead bikes to the company - well if Boris can do it...!
