New Year, New Career

Local New Malden lady, Sarah Summers, 42, was the first employee for the recently opened Wimbledon & Kingston office of at-home care provider, Home Instead Senior Care.  She has settled perfectly into the role of Caregiver and already made a real difference to her clients’ lives.

Ex office worker, Sarah, struggled to find quality at-home care for her parents and eventually decided to care for them herself in their home.  Recognising what a positive impact this had on them she knew this was something she wanted to do for others as well, which is when she saw the advert for Home Instead Senior Care.

Home Instead’s main aim is to enable elderly people in Wimbledon, Kingston and the surrounding areas, to remain in their homes for as long a possible allowing them to maintain as much independence as they can.

Owner of the Wimbledon & Kingston office, Clare Jefferies, said “Sarah has been fantastic since day one at Home Instead, she is a complete natural in the role and her clients have made a real turnaround since she started visiting. Their lives have been made all the better from Sarah’s regular friendly face ”

Commenting on her role, Sarah said “I was immediately drawn to the quality of care provided by Home Instead.  I could never find anything like this for my parents.  I love visiting my clients, I feel like I am actually doing something worthwhile, it’s the best job I have ever had, in fact it doesn’t really feel like a job.”

“A client has recently said to me ‘Where would I be without you?’.  I just feel that it is a great privilege to have such a positive effect on someone’s day. What other job gives you that satisfaction?”
