Home Instead making a difference in the community

Today, we attended the funeral of a very special man, who we first met when he came to one of our community events with his wife. He loved singing and our Singing for the Brain was just the ticket for him Eighteen months later and they had become regulars at many of our events and weekly activities. They had joined a family of friends who were all living with dementia.

The loss of such a character from their ‘family’ has hit everyone hard and to see three rows of us in the church saying goodbye was a humbling sight.

When Home Instead first launched its Memory Cafes and subsequently its community activities, we knew how valuable they would be not just to those in need of care bu also those who care for them.

Today was testament that we have really got it right!
