Walk along the banks of River Banwell and see what wonderful wildlife you can spot. Constructed before 1351, River Banwell is an artificial channel flowing for a distance of approximately 6.3 miles. The source of the river is a spring near to Banwell church. It flows north and north west to St Georges on the north side of Weston Super Mare and then through Ebdon to enter the Bristol Channel at Woodspring Bay. Accessible from Bourton and Wick St Lawrence, a lovely local beauty spot.

A beautiful example of an old English village church, set up on a mound in Wick St Lawrence. The history of the church is felt all through the church yard and inside the building. St Lawrence Church boasts a fully functional pipe organ, as well as a bell tower.

Mendip Activity Centre Watersports Site, Hewish

Water sports take place along Oldbridge River, run by the Mendip Activity Centre team. A peaceful and calm river where you can book to go kayaking or paddle boarding. The site has good changing facilities. Definitely worth the visit for a fun morning or afternoon of activities.
