Home Instead Senior Care teamed up with the Stroke Association for a highly successful event to increase awareness of strokes and how to get help and support. It included a sponsored family walk and various opportunities to raise much needed funds for the Stroke Association.

The Step out for Stroke event took place on the 1st May 2013 at Walton Gardens, it was a glorious spring day, the gardens were at their best and around 100 people took part in the half mile walk - stepping out for action on Stroke.

Home Instead Senior Care took responsibility for organising the raffle and two of the team took part in the walk. We were able to raise over £100 towards the much needed support of the Stroke Association.

Many of our clients have experienced a stroke and the dedicated 'person-centred' care provided by our Caregivers has been invaluable in helping them to regain their confidence and a level of independence. Sometimes it is just having someone to give that little extra bit of support and encouragement that can make all the difference. Alternatively it can be more personal help, which is sensitively given by our highly trained and professional staff members. We work very closely with the Stroke Association and are very pleased to take part in this local event and help them in as many ways as we can.

Prizes were generously donated by Helen Forster Hair Design, Sainsbury's in Stockton Heath, Living Colour Florist, Esquires Coffee Shop, the Little Box of Treats as well as private donations from generous individuals.
