Ship ahoy, captains hats on and away we sailed. Clients, CAREGivers, families and some of our managers headed off to enjoy the afternoon onboard the Marple Canal. The cork was popped, and the bucks fizz flowed as we sang, chatted and laughed whilst enjoying the amazing scenery.
New horizons is a 70ft canal boat that’s fully accessible and ran by volunteers. The skipper “Peter” certainly knows how to entertain us all with his humour and stories.
In true British summer weather, we started with the umbrellas up as we were not being defeated by some rain, but before long the sun shone and the coats came off.
Stopping at the half way point for ice creams and a chat to the locals before we headed back whilst feeding the ducks and admiring the views.
12 happy, smiley faces with so many memories of a great day out, we left the boat at 4pm and headed home planning our next adventure.
After the event we asked for some feedback and this is what we received:
Ann “I had a great day it brought back so many memories it was wonderful. I arrange a trip on the new horizon a very long time ago it was all the same nothing had changed even the skipper was the same”
Roy “I had a lovely day out and it was very well organised. Everyone was helpful and pleasant. I would love to go again if it was arranged”
