The “Making a Difference” award was created to recognise the wonderful support our CAREGivers provide to the people they look after. Commenting about the award, Managing Director David Moore said: “In the office we hear an amazing story every day of the week about the things our CAREGivers do to make a difference to the lives of our Clients. This award was developed to capture those stories, but more importantly we wanted to show recognition to our CAREGivers for the fantastic work they do every day of the week. This award was a simple way to show our appreciation.”
The award for December went to Deborah Gething. Deborah has only been with Home Instead for a few months but already has made a massive impact on all her Clients. “Going that extra mile”, Deborah instinctively knows what a Client needs and puts the right level of support in place to maintain independence but also support clients to achieve their goals.
Commenting about her Father, Mr JM, Mrs FS said: “Deborah has totally transformed him; he is a different man. Not only has she made his life better, but she has also made my life easier. If my Father is in need of anything, Deborah will let me know – her communication is great”.
Deborah was thrilled to receive her award from David (Managing Director) and Michele (Care Manager). Talking about the nomination David Moore said: “This is the first time that a Clients family have made the nomination. This is a new approach we have taken to make the award more meaningful. We put an article in our Client Newsletter about the MAD Award and Mrs FS came straight back to us with an email nominating Deborah. Hearing great stories from our CAREGivers is very reassuring, but to hear directly from a Clients family that we are making a massive difference to their lives means we are really providing great support”.
