A community watchdog has pledged to visit home care providers to check they are providing quality services. Stockport LINk has set up a task group to monitor the care people receive in their own homes in response to public feedback.
Members of the group visited at home care provider Home Instead Senior Care in Cheadle Heath to find out more about the way care is provided and they plan to visit other providers in Stockport over the next few months.
David Moore, Managing Director of Home Instead Senior Care in Stockport and Tameside and a LINk Core Group member himself, commented: “Due to a conflict of interests I could not be a part of the group but offered my knowledge as a consultant. I invited the group to come to our offices to see how we deliver exceptional quality care by working with 1 hour minimum visits and sending the same CAREGiver back on each visit”.
Joyce Drummond, one of the members of the group, said: “The visit was incredibly useful in increasing our understanding of the work that has to go into providing care for people in their own homes.
“We will be using the knowledge we gained to feed into the work we are doing to ensure that all care provided at home in Stockport is of a high Standard.”
