New Shrewsbury care service to create up to 50 jobs

A company providing home care for older people is set to create up to 50 jobs in Shropshire.

A new branch of Home Instead Senior Care is being created in Shrewsbury and will bring between 40 and 50 new roles to the town as well as Ludlow and Oswestry.

Rachael Birchall has set up the branch which will provide support for older people in their homes.

And she has already embarked on a recruitment drive as she looks to build the business.

Nine positions have already been filled at the company.

Many will be part-time, and will be structured in a way that the workers are allocated one person for whom to care, meaning they can give additional time to their clients.

Ms Birchall added: “When my grandmother moved into her flat, I’d visit regularly and set up pampering sessions, she really enjoyed the fuss and the company.

“My paternal grandmother who is 95 and still living in her own home has said to me that the hardest part of living alone can be the loneliness if you don’t see one person from one end of the day to the other.

“What older people really need is someone to talk to or have a cup of tea with, someone who isn’t in a rush to get away.

“I truly believe that I can make a remarkable difference to the lives of older people in my local community and am keen to talk to kind, compassionate and like-minded individuals who may be interested in joining our team.”

Home Instead Senior Care has two offices covering Shropshire, in Shrewsbury and Telford.
