I am delighted to inform you that Home Instead Senior Care, which I operate a division of in Shrewsbury, has been listed as the best performing home care company, in terms of complying with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards.

An investigation carried out by Laing & Buisson looked at the best home-care providers in England and they have revealed the results in a "league table" based on compliance with CQC standards.

Home Instead Senior Care has been revealed as the top performer in the analysis of CQC performance, with 97.8% of its 109 branches (of which we are one, covering Shrewsbury, Oswestry and Ludlow) being fully compliant with core standards covering care, safeguarding, staffing, management and respect for service users.

Home Instead, has about 900 independent franchises across the world, and was followed by the charity Mencap, 93.4% of whose branches were fully compliant.

I am absolutely delighted that the company has come out top, but am really not surprised. The ethos of Home Instead Senior Care is such that all who work within it must be at the top of our game and offer the very best in senior home care.

The market analysts' care compliance monitor for home care will be updated every quarter, based on CQC inspection results across the approximate 8,000 home care branches in England. And I fully expect to be directing a branch of this company which remains at the top of this table.

Laing & Buisson said the tool filled a gap in performance information created by the abolition of CQC's quality ratings for care providers in 2010. The regulator also plans to reintroduce ratings next year for adult social care providers.
