At Home Instead Senior Care we are always at the forefront of training to ensure we look after those in our care to the highest possible standards.

We run a training programme called The Alzheimer’s CARE Train the Trainer Programme – it is our most successful training to date with exceptional feedback from participants and professional organisations across the UK.

With almost 80 franchise offices trained (including us here at Home Instead Senior Care Shrewsbury, Ludlow & Oswestry) and over 600 City & Guilds accredited CAREGivers expected to be trained in the next six months, we are already making a real difference for our clients!

Now, it’s time to make a difference to the lives of families and the community with the launch of our Family Education Training Programme.

It can be very challenging for family members supporting their loved ones who have Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias and our objective is to support those people who are involved in caring for them.

Empowering families and community volunteers with resources to help them cope is a very rewarding position to be in. Our training will enable them to positively embrace the journey they face, rather than be afraid of it.

Further awareness always needs to be raised about these important conditions. Hundreds of people, including one of our Home Instead Shrewsbury, Ludlow & Oswestry CAREGivers, took part in the recent annual Alzheimer’s Society Memory Walk at Attingham Park to do just that.

We have a huge opportunity to make a real difference to people’s lives with this training programme, but it relies on each and every person qualified to deliver it, to commit to rolling this out in the network with energy and enthusiasm.

Our training programme is unique and exclusive and is a fundamental differentiator for Home Instead. We aim to be the leaders and innovators in the UK care sector to help us achieve our mission of changing the face of ageing.
