Did you see our WOW guide in the Sheffield Star?

Thursday’s edition of The Star included a feature on Home Instead’s What’s On Where Guide and the kind of activities people have got involved in due to the guide.

We launched the first edition of our guide back in November 2014 and since then have had nothing but positive reviews. We have been handing out our guides in; Hospitals, Dentists, GP’s, Community Centres and to others within the community in an attempt to raise awareness of the range of activities that are out there for people and with this, we can hopefully reduce social isolation across Sheffield.

Our guides are FREE and were developed after seeing first-hand the amount of people that were lonely in Sheffield and didn’t know about what was available to them in their local community.

We have even used the guide to encourage our clients to take part in these activities which has seen one client in particular go from being quite shy, to really coming out of their shell.

Not only has our guide had a positive impact on our clients and other people across Sheffield, but it has also done wonders for the groups we have listed.

Louise from the Parson Cross Forum which had a photo from their club featured in the Star had this to say about the guide: “This is a fabulous directory and we have handed quite a few out in our centre already and I have also had an enquiry regarding our Dementia group from someone using the directory”

This is just one example of the impact our guide is having, we could write pages!

If you didn’t get the chance to pick up a copy of Thursday’s Star, you can view our article online using the link below.
