The next Sheffield Dementia Action Alliance (SDAA) meeting will be held on the 18th of March at the Home Instead Sheffiled South offices. The SDAA meets every two months to discuss what each of the nine alliance members (including Home Instead) are doing to make Sheffield a dementia friendly city, and makes plans for the future.
Home Instead Senior Care Sheffield South's current commitment to the SDAA are the Dementia workshops that are targetted at family members and people in the Sheffield community. The workshops are free to attend and have been developed through Home Instead's very own City and Guilds accredited training. The aim of the SDAA is to raise further awareness of Dementia throughout Sheffield, and we feel having worked alongside clients with the disease, we have a lot of experience and knowledge to give back to the community.
The meeting should provide a further stepping stone which will help the SDAA steering group work together to meet their aim of creating a Dementia friendly city. The Dementia Action Alliance is a nationwide alliance with local operations, it currently has 900 organisations working together and has achieved 3500 actions to date!
