Keeping Warm and Well

February's weather can be chilling.
February's weather can be chilling.

It's that time of year again, where the scarves and gloves come on and the heating is on as much as Eastenders. The Guardain even did a poll where 62% of people said it was acceptable to turn on the central heating in early autumn (that's September!). It just goes to show that unfortunately British winter is just getting longer.

It can be difficult for some people in the Sheffield community to maintain a warm home, energy bills can be pricey for some people. Unfortunately there are some people that are more isolated within the community, who may find themselves in 'Fuel Poverty' where their energy bills amount to more than 10% of their household income.

However the Sheffield City Council Sustainable Development Team are here to help. If you are part of a low income household you could be eligible to enter into Government schemes and services which can reduce the cost of your energy bills, Home Instead Senior Care Sheffield South have already provided this information to its clients which has helped them save a lot of money on their monthly bills

If you think you may be eligible we urge you to call the development team on  0114 203 9202 or 0800 915 9096 (free phone ), they can also provide helpful tips and advice to create even further savings for yourself.
