On the 29th of November we are hosting a Free Dementia Workshop at The Old Rectory, St Mary’s Church in Handsworth.
Are you caring for an ageing parent or relative with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementia? Are you looking for activities that will engage them both physically and emotionally? Would you like to learn ways to encourage engagement, even if your loved one is in the late stages of the disease?
The day’s topic’s will be ’Activities to Encourage Engagement’. We provide workshops for family members, carers and the local community.
This Workshop will help you:
- Learn about the benefits of staying active for a person with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementia.
- Learn about three types of activities—for mind, body soul.
- Discover various techniques to encourage your loved one to engage in activity.
- Become familiar with activities that are suitable for late stage Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias, to stimulate your loved one’s five senses.
