Double Award Success for Home Instead Dudley & Sandwell South at the 2026 Excellence in Care Awards

Home Instead Dudley & Sandwell South celebrates two winners at the West Midlands Excellence in Care Awards 2026.

It was a night to remember for Home Instead Dudley & Sandwell South as two members of our team received prestigious awards recognising their dedication to local care.

At the West Midlands Care Association Excellence in Care Awards 2026, held on Friday 16 October at the Copthorne Hotel, Merry Hill, Rebecca Brittle was named winner of the Office Staff Award, while Kuldip Johal received the Newcomer of the Year Award.

The annual awards celebrate the people and organisations making a positive difference across social care in the West Midlands. For our team, seeing two colleagues recognised for their individual contributions made the evening particularly special.

Rebecca Brittle: Recognising the People Behind Outstanding Care

Providing excellent home care takes more than the dedication of the Care Professionals visiting clients each day. Behind every successful visit is an office team working hard to ensure that care runs smoothly, families feel supported and colleagues have everything they need.

Rebecca Brittle’s Office Staff Award recognises the importance of that often unseen work.

Rebecca joined Home Instead Dudley & Sandwell South as an apprentice in 2018 and has progressed through several office roles. Now working as a Scheduler, she helps coordinate client visits, balancing individual needs with the practical demands of delivering reliable, personalised care.

Her attention to detail, calm approach to problem-solving and commitment to supporting both clients and colleagues have made her an invaluable member of the team.

Rebecca’s achievement is a wonderful acknowledgement of the professionalism and care that go into providing a dependable service. It also demonstrates the opportunities for career development within the care sector, including roles that support clients and Care Professionals behind the scenes.

Kuldip Johal: Making a Difference from the Start

Kuldip Johal’s Newcomer of the Year Award celebrates the remarkable contribution he has made in a relatively short time.

Starting a career in care requires compassion, patience and a willingness to learn. For Kuldip, his kindness, enthusiasm and natural ability to build meaningful relationships with clients have already made a lasting impression.

He has quickly become a valued and trusted member of the Home Instead Dudley & Sandwell South team, demonstrating how much difference one person can make through thoughtful, person-centred support.

His award is particularly encouraging for anyone considering a career in care for the first time. While professional training and support are essential, the ability to listen, connect with others and treat people with dignity is equally important.
