Be a Santa to a Senior this Christmas!

As Christmas is fast approaching, local in-home care company, Home Instead Senior Care Norwich, is calling on the local community to support their annual gift giving campaign, ‘Be a Santa to a Senior.’

The campaign is a way of giving back to the local elderly community, by spreading joy and festive cheer to individuals who may be feeling lonely or isolated this Christmas.

The way it works is simple. Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, the local community can drop their wrapped donations off at a collection point located at Home Instead’s office; Diamond House, Vulcan Road North, Norwich, Norfolk, NR6 6AQ.

Suggested donations are chocolates, biscuits, toiletries, puzzle books, or winter warmers, such as gloves, scarfs and blankets.

To help adhere to social distancing guidelines, please call the team ahead of arrival on 01603 482116 or email: to arrange a contactless drop off. Gifts will be isolated for 72 hours and can be donated until Wednesday 16th December.

Donations will be distributed by the Home Instead team to older people in Norwich who may not otherwise receive a gift at Christmas. Members of the public and local organisations can nominate older people in the community to receive these gifts.

Erin Guyton, Marketing and Community Engagement Officer at Home Instead Norwich, said: “We provide care to older people in their own homes. Our clients get regular company from their caregivers, so the ‘Be a Santa to a Senior’ campaign allows us to reach out to older people in our community who perhaps aren’t fortunate enough to regularly see people. It will bring a smile to their face knowing that local people are thinking about them this Christmas.

“If you would like to donate a gift, or nominate an older person or group of older people in Norwich to receive a present, please do get in touch.”
