Santa to a Senior at Gosforth Middle School

Santa for a Senior has been launched at Gosforth Central Middle School. The school are part of the Gosforth Dementia Alliance and have engaged in a number of events and study over the last year focusing on the issues facing some of our older generation.

This has led to the school hosting Santa for a Senior. A tree, with the help of the children has been decorated in the school with lots of gift tags. The children will take a tag and donate a present to charities and community groups in Newcastle who will be seeing or having a Christmas event.

The donations are going to Age UK who are having a Christmas day lunch, St Aidan’s Community Centre who will be having a Christmas party, and Holy Trinity Church who are also having a Christmas Lunch for seniors. Other donations will be made to The Bring Joy Foundation, Independent Age and Contact the Elderly NorthEast.
