Nurse training at Northumbria University

Home Instead Newcastle was invited to the Northumbria University to take part in the ongoing Nurse Training programme.

It was a compliment to our service to be the only Home Care provider invited to the University to speak with all 170 student nurses who are in the final year of training.

It was an absolute pleasure to speak with the nurses who were all keen to engage and find out about the services available in the community. We were joined by representatives from the Alzheimer’s Society, Age Uk, Gentoo, Newcastle University and from a Local Housing Company.

Anne Louise Hutchinson, Senior Lecturer Pre-registration Adult Nursing at the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences said

“On behalf of the module team a very BIG thank you are your colleagues for your support in the above session. We could not do it without you! Your commitment and enthusiasm shone through and this session provided an excellent learning opportunity for Northumbria students.  You may like to know that many of your organisations received a mention in the group formative presentations today."

This is the second occasion we have been invited and will return to give other students the opportunity to benefit from the knowledge of services available
