It's hard accepting that an aging parent isn't coping quite as well any more, and the feelings many daughters and sons experience are very familiar to all the team here at Home Instead.
Introducing some part time support is often best as a very gentle process. Our experience and training covers many situations and can make valuable suggestions when we know a little more about mum or dad's usual routine so that we can tailor a perfect outcome.
We take great care matching your loved ones hobbies and likes with a member of our fully reference checked and trained CAREGiving staff. We introduce our staff personally, and ensure that all is good well for everyone - so that time spent building trust and companionship will blossom into a great relationship for when more care is required, or perhaps when you are away on holiday.
Not everyone still lives in their old family home - we have several clients who live in Independent Living facilities, such as the McCarthy and Stone development in Oadby just handy for Asda. Initially there is a lot of excitement with a big move from a family home, and then making friends and finding a new daily routine can be quite daunting, so we are there to assist. Ideas include taking out to Glebe Garden Centre perhaps for a cup of tea and cake and a browse, or just to be there as a companion( our CAREGIvers don't wear uniforms) at Age Uk on Basset Street, South Wigston for a traditional home cooked lunch and people watch.
We assist with day to day living, getting up and gorgeous for a Church service or the WI perhaps or just a "pop in" companionship call for a couple of hours at weekends we can help.
Whatever you are thinking of, we can make a care menu to really please both you and your loved one. Don't hesitate to call and let's see how we can help.
