New Memory Cafe launches in Lee on Solent

More than 20 people with memory loss and their carers attended the new Lee-on-the-Solent Memory Café on the 29th January organised by Age Concern Hampshire and Home Instead Fareham.

John James of Home Instead Fareham said, “The café offers a relaxed setting where carers can have a friendly chat over a tea or coffee, join informal activities and access advice and support with the help of trained staff.”

Kym Devine, Area Manager for Age Concern, added: “We knew there was a gap for this type of service locally - we want the Memory Café to reflect the needs of the people who use it, and would encourage people to drop in and help us shape the service as it develops.”

Anyone caring for someone with dementia is welcome to come along.

The Memory Café will be held on the last Thursday of every month in The Methodist Church Hall between 2pm and 4pm.
