Free 'scam' awareness sessions - helping to keep older people safe

Home Instead Senior Care in Fareham and Gosport is a partner with the Think Jessica Charity and is currently running a public education programme to help raise awareness of the risks older people may face from “scammers” and offer advice on how to keep safe.

Home Instead is a partner of the Think Jessica Charity established to help raise awareness of the risks from scammers and to provide information and resources to help keep people safe.

There is an increasing risk that older people will be targeted by scammers. Research indicates 7 out of 10 people over 65 are targeted every year and the losses amount to over £1.5 billion.

Awareness presentations are delivered in about 45 minutes and are free of charge.

The sessions have already been run at a range of local venues throughout Fareham, Gosport, Portchester and Wickham from lunch clubs to coffee mornings.

John James, Managing Director, of Home Instead in Fareham, said:

“In addition to the information provided at the sessions we also provide material for attendees to take away as handy reminders about how to keep safe and the feedback from the sessions is always very positive.”

If you would like to book a session please do call us on 01329 282 469.
