The new Wilkinson’s store in the Galleries, Washington embraced the Christmas initiative ‘Be A Santa To A Senior’ that was launched by Home Instead Senior Care.

Wendy Gray, store manager, along with her team and customers donated almost 50 gifts to go to older people who would not normally get a gift at Christmas. These people will now get a gift to open on Christmas morning that they might not otherwise and a pre-Christmas visit which is so important to people who are lonely and isolated.

Home Instead Senior Care passed the gifts to Age UK in Washington, who worked in collaboration with Gentoo to deliver the gifts to the people who really need them.

Speaking about ‘Be a Santa to a Senior’, owner of Home Instead in Durham and Sunderland, Trudi Jameson said, “I am excited to have brought this scheme to Washington and have been overwhelmed by the generosity of the local community and Wilkinson’s.
