Moving and Handling Practical Training

Safe handling techniques

Our CAREGivers recently attended their practical Moving and Handling Training

The group successfully completed the half-day accredited training session included in our comprehensive induction programme. They had already completed their theory training session earlier.

The Caregivers now have a sound understanding of:

  • The importance of back care and the causes of back pain
  • Employee and employer legal responsibilities
  • Efficient moving principles and how to avoid and recognise dangerous techniques
  • How to deal with a fall
  • Moving people safely from lying down to sitting and from sitting to standing

It was no surprise that our enthusiastic CAREGivers gained a 100% pass rate.

Some of the evaluation comments were:

I feel confident now to provide physical support to an elderly person in their own home.

It was really interesting and I’m now ready to provide personal care to older people.
