Dementia Action Week 2019
I (Rob Franchise Owner) should explain a little about Dementia Action Week and why it is such an important event in the annual calendar.
Dementia touches so many lives and will only touch more with 850000 people currently living with Dementia in the UK and this figure expected to hit the 1 million mark by 2025.
Dementia Action Week is about taking action to help make Britain more Dementia Friendly and these actions can be as big as organising a large event or as small as starting a conversation with someone living with Dementia, the important thing is action, the smallest act of outreach and understanding can have a large impact on a person living with Dementia as it helps them to be seen as what they are a person with a life to live and not a statistic or somebody who has to be spoken for. It is encouraging these small actions that Dementia Action Week is about and we here at Home Instead Senior Care are delighted to support Dementia Action Week.
Doncaster as ever has a fully packed programme during Dementia Action Week and this is testament to the commitment of local groups and individuals determined to make Doncaster more Dementia Friendly
