Leaders in Care Awards 2019

We're delighted to announce some fantastic news for Home Instead Senior Care. Last night we were supporting the Leaders in Care Awards in Birmingham, an event attended by many home care providers. We were finalists in 3 categories, and are proud to have won the award for Homecare Provider of the Year. Our very own CEO Martin Jones was also awarded the Homecare Executive of the Year. It is an honour to be recognised both for our strong leadership and our national commitment to providing exceptional care for our clients.

5 Star award

5 Star Employer by Workbuzz

Home Instead Senior Care has been recognised as a 5 Star Employer by WorkBuzz, as a result of positive feedback from their employees In June 2019, WorkBuzz invited all Home Instead Senior Care’s CAREGivers and Key Players to provide confidential feedback about their experience working for Home Instead Senior Care, including the training and development on offer; the relationship with their manager and day-to-day responsibilities. As independent employee engagement specialists, WorkBuzz then verified the results. Home Instead Senior Care was awarded the WorkBuzz 5 Star Employer award in September, based on positive feedback from their employees. This demonstrates Home Instead Senior Care’s high levels of employee engagement, compared to other businesses of a similar size.

Tony with his wife Sue.

Congratulations Tony.

We are very proud to congratulate client, Tony Richmond, who was recently made an Alderman by Darlington Borough Council for his eminent service to the borough during his 42 years as member and former Opposition Leader. Councillor Charles Johnson said he could “not think of a more worthy recipient” of the award than Mr Richmond, who served as Mayor in 1993 and led the Conservative Group for many years. The ceremony heard Mayor Councillor Nick Wallis describe Mr Richmond as “a true gentleman” and how the leading Tory had “wielded words like a rapier” during political debate. Councillor Cindy Hughes added Mr Richmond and his Labour councillor wife, Sue, had shown how it was possible to engage in political activism while treating rivals with humility, kindness and respect.

Mrs. T giving me a cuddle.

Hugh's travels.

Hello everyone, I know it’s been a while since posting some photos but I have been away having some well deserved rest and I am now refreshed and ready to get back out there with the CAREGivers and supporting Clients with them, hopefully I will raise a few smiles whilst I am on my travels. Recently Donna one of our CAREGivers took me under her wing I met one of her lovely Clients Mrs T, who is a lovely very smiley happy lady. She greeted Donna and gave me a huge grin then led us into the house. Donna asked Mrs T if she would like to have some tea and toast which Mrs T said “oh yes please” so we went out to the kitchen and prepared her breakfast just the way she likes it. We took this into the living room and placed her breakfast on the table in front of her so that she could reach. Sophie (the shared cat with neighbours) appeared next to us as soon as we had put the toast down. Mrs T said to Sophie as you can see by the photo Mrs T looks like she is saying to Sophie “you can’t have my breakfast and Sophie does not look happy about that”. I’m sure Sophie got a little titbit though. Whilst Mrs T was eating her breakfast Donna knows that there is usually some laundry to do so we proceeded to the kitchen area and sorted out the laundry into piles and put the washing machine on and here I am just as we switched the washer on. We cleaned around in the kitchen which Donna would normally do and then we ensured that we gave Mrs T her medication correctly documenting as we went along. All too soon the visit was over and it was time to leave but not before Mrs T had a good chat with me telling me to make sure that I looked after Donna. What a lovely visit that was and Donna is a great CAREGiver she made sure that I had supported the client. See you soon Hugh
