Time for a Cuppa? - Invite

It is remarkable to think that Home Instead West Lancashire and Chorley has only been open for 12 months! During that time we have been overwhelmed by the kindness and support from our Clients, CAREGivers and members of the local community alike;  recognising this special warmth and friendship both my wife Gail and I thought that we should celebrate this milestone in a unique and typically Home Instead style!

With this in mind, we have decided to throw our support behind Dementia UK and host a ‘Time For A Cuppa?’ event. Dementia UK is a charity which, with the support, professionalism and compassion of specialist, dementia trained Admiral Nurses, endeavours to improve the quality of life for all people affected by Dementia in our local community.

You might have seen the recent Alzheimer’s Society reports ‘Home from Home’ and more recently ‘Low Expectations’ which found issues with dignity and respect and activities in care homes and called for staff to receive Dementia training. The most recent report shows that 80% of care home residents have dementia or severe memory problems; an alarming and dramatic increase on previous recorded figures. A YouGov poll as part of ‘Low Expectations’ reports that 70% of the general public would be worried about going into a care home, and 64% do not think the care home sector is doing enough to tackle abuse.

As you know at Home Instead, we specialise in providing high quality care to adults and older people, allowing them to live independently in their own homes for longer. Dementia UK is one of a number of charities which are extremely close to our hearts and we have chosen this unique First Birthday opportunity to help raise their awareness and much needed funds, whilst relaxing and having some fun.

By way of this letter, we would like to invite you and a friend to our ‘Time For A Cuppa?’ event which will be held at Ormskirk Parish Church, New Church House, on Friday 8th March from 10am until 12 noon. Please see the attached flyer for details.

In closing, both Gail and I would be delighted if you could join us at our ‘Time For A Cuppa?’ fundraising event on behalf of Dementia UK and help us celebrate our First Birthday.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Kind Regards

Robert Godson
