'Falls - Free' Campaign Launched at Buckshaw Village Christmas Fair.

Home Instead West Lancashire and Chorley chose the Christmas Fair at Buckshaw Village on Sunday night to launch their 2012 "Falls - Free" Campaign, focused at protecting peoples independence by reducing the chance of a fall.

In conjunction with Age UK and sponsored by Home Instead, both organisations are aware that as you grow older, gradual health changes and some medication can cause falls, but many falls can be prevented.

Robert Godson Director goes on to say "If you or a family member have had a fall or are worried about falling, then contact Home Instead and or Age UK and get a FREE self-assessment form which will ask you questions about your health and wellbeing to help you think about simple activities and interventions which can help you maintain your independence and reduce your risk of a fall".

"Once you have completed this form, and if you have answered "yes" to any of the questions, then you can take it along to your GP to discuss each of the points. He or she will be able to refer you to the appropriate services and help you with further advice".
