Home Instead in Chester and Ellesmere Port honours Dementia Awareness Week.

At a recent updated Training session attended by our tremendous Caregivers, the Training Team took time out to sing ‘Songs to remember’ as part of our reminder about Dementia Awareness Week. Homeinstead supports many Clients in their own home who have Dementia, and many of our Caregivers have been trained in our City and Guilds accredited Alzheimers training. This enables vulnerable and older people to stay independent in their own homes; a choice most of us would rather have!

Our Caregivers provide person-centred care for a minimum of 1 hour to people in their own homes, and the picture shows some of our Caregivers with our Training Manager Helen, with Louise our Training Support Supervisor, having a good old sing-song to remember Dementia Awareness Week. Louise said’it was really appropriate for us to just take a little time out of our Training just to recognise how important it continues to be that out Clients who have Dementia, can be allowed to stay in their own homes whilst maintain their dignity.’
