Frances Sayer - Owner
I worked for many years in the retail sector until reaching a milestone in my life. I decided I wanted to change my career path and work within the care sector delivering care to the elderly. I joined a large group of wonderful care homes as a Director Of Community Relations, working with families and prospective clients, usually at an extremely difficult and stressful time in their life, I provided counselling and solutions to their care needs.
It was during this time and through the experiences and insight I had gained, that I decided that I could use my skills to assist people who did not feel ready to enter into a care home environment. Often they had tried homecare solutions but had been unable to find compassionate and caring help which would enable them to stay in their own home. Often the everyday tasks that we all take for granted become increasingly difficult and things such as shopping, personal care, meal preparation become impossible without help. Sometimes someone visiting for companionship or on a befriending basis is all that is needed to keep someone company and happy. I found it difficult to find a company that offered all of these solutions along with a specialist service for those with Alzheimer's and dementia. I also found a real gap for respite care to help in the situation that a carer needs a much deserved break. Another must for me was to have the ability to provide continuity of carers, this is not only essential for those with Alzheimer's and dementia but for everyone who needs care such as those with physical disabilities or illness's that mean that care is needed within the home. Who wants strangers visiting every day? This becomes even more difficult if you require someone to care for you in what can sometimes be a very personal situation. My challenge was to find a company that could equal my passion, dedication and desire to deliver quality care into our community.
After much research, I discovered Home Instead Senior Care, who were the only company to meet my expectations in every area. I am lucky to have a great team of experienced and committed colleagues who share my values and vision. We all look forward to serving our local community.
Gina Dobson - Scheduling Coordinator
Gina has joined Home Instead as our Scheduling Coordinator, Gina has worked in care for 20 years starting as Carer and working her way up to a Care Manager at Allied Healthcare and Helping Hands. Gina wanted to get a better work life balance as she has 3 children and 5 grand children.
Gina has a wealth of knowledge and we are pleased to welcome her to our team, Gina wanted to join Home Instead as she had heard about the company and has the same ethos as Home Instead and wants to improve the face of Care in the Community. Gina is a local lady and therefore knows this area well which will help her in her new role
Maxine Griffiths - Lead Senior CAREGiver
Maxine came to Home Instead Senior Care after many years working for Staffordshire County Council as a Care Manager. Maxine decided that she wanted to continue to work in the Care sector but not as a Care Manager. The position of Senior was ideal for Maxine, it enabled her to utilise all of her experience and abilities, whilst being able to have the direct contact with Clients and CAREGivers that she enjoys, rather than the mounds of paperwork which Care Managers these days have to contend with. Maxine has fitted effortlessly into the team at Cannock and is thoroughly embracing the role. For quite a lot of the time that Maxine worked as a Care Manager it involved working with children and adults with Learning Difficulties. This area of care is very dedicated to person centred care and maintaining independence, this is something that working for Home Instead Senior Care enables Maxine to continue with and the reason she decided this was exactly the right Company for her to be working for in her new career.
Jo Clark - Training Coordinator/Senior CAREGiver
Jo started her career as a Nurse in a local hospital. After marrying and starting a family, Jo worked for a Domiciliary Care Company for 10 years as a Trainer. Home Instead Cannock were lucky enough to persuade Jo that her skills could be utilised in training and supporting our CAREGivers to become professionals within the Care Sector. Jo shared our passion that training in care is not something that should be carried out 'on line', we feel that relevant questions cannot be focussed at a computer! Jo continually adds to her area of expertise by completing many Train The Trainer Courses, the last course she qualified in was as a Trainer for Home Instead Senior Care Alzheimer's programme which was devised specifically for Home Instead and is City & Guilds accredited. Jo works hard to ensure that all CAREGivers are encouraged to take their QCF qualification in Health & Social Care and to obtain training from other professional bodies. Part of Jo's role is to work with each CAREGiver on their individual training development plan.
Jo Watts - Senior Care Coordinator
Jo previously worked for Home Instead as a Caregiver, and has rejoined the team as a Senior Care Coordinator. Jo is so pleased to be back working at Home Instead and only left as she needed to work evenings due to family commitments. She loves the ethos of Home Instead and is looking forward to meeting colleagues and clients old and new.
