Home Instead Hook-a-Duck

Roll up, roll up....
Roll up, roll up....

It was with pleasure that Home Instead owner, Karina, and her husband, wrapped up warm for a day at the Harris HospisCare Classic Car Show where, to the delight of the children and some competitive parents, they ran the hook-a-duck stall. By the end of the day 152 ducks had been hooked and prizes won.

An estimated 1,800 people turned up to see the 400 cars, bikes, buses, fire engines and a steam engine on display and early indications are that at least £7,500 was raised from the event.

Harris HospisCare was founded in 1984 to look after people with cancer and other serious illnesses in the southern part of Bromley. In the last year, the charity’s nurses made more than 3,200 visits to support dying people and their families.

Karina commented, “As a company which specialises in providing care, Harris HospisCare is a charity which is close to our hearts and we recognise the importance of supporting them in raising much needed funds.”

“We’re a new company to the area and as such, felt it was really important to get involved and make a difference to the lives of local people. We had such fun and I’m so pleased that we managed to raise £76 for Harris HospisCare and I’m sure that we will be getting involved in future events.”
