Jill started as a CAREGiver in September 2017 and has now progressed into Senior Field Support Team Member role. What is your background? Jill previously worked in the Retail Sector working her way up to Management. In this sector you have the chance to work with quite a diverse group of people, allowing you to experience and deal with a mixture of personalities. After having a family decided to move into the Health and Social Care Sector as this provided more flexible hours and worked around childcare at the time. Jill has worked previous for a large Charity in Essex supporting Home help and companionship services, but since has worked for Home Care Agencies in similar roles of Administration and Carer duties. What characteristics do you need to be successful in your job? To appreciate and understand the clients individual needs and expectations and to recognise clients boundaries in the home. You soon realise not everyone will do things you like it to be done, so it’s respecting individual needs and having the patience and compassion to deal with sensitive duties. What do you like about your job? Becoming a CAREGiver really makes a difference to people’s lives and helps combat loneliness. Helps clients feel a sense of belonging and give them a better quality of life. Being appreciated by the client is very rewarding for the CAREGiver and gives you the confidence to do well in your role.
