The Home Instead Senior Care Liverpool South office is led by John Ward. John joined Home Instead with more than 7 years experience as a senior manager for a local Charity in Liverpool. John was chosen to ensure the Pilot Office for Home Instead in the UK would be a beacon service to other offices.
John started his working life in the commercial sector where he became a qualified accountant overseeing the financial affairs of an international company with its Head Office based in Bristol. Following the birth of his disabled and visually impaired daughter in 1998, he soon became drawn to the work and services of the care and voluntary sectors. John relocated his family back to the North West in 2004 where, working in Liverpool, he has developed an extended network and understanding of the local services available to older people.
In John's own words "I love doing a job and being part of a service that makes a real difference to the lives of people we support. Every day is rewarding and amazing in its own way. The people I now work with, in the Home Instead network, are passionate about making a difference and it is an honour and pleasure to be a part of it."
Like many people John wishes there was a Home Instead service around when his own parents needed support at home, "I am convinced, had there been a service to help my mother in her own home with domestic activities such as shopping, cooking and her personal care, while keeping her independence, she would have remained happy at home and ultimately lived longer."
John says his own personal experiences motivates and drives him to deliver the best quality service to the people of South Liverpool.
