From Care Professional to Registered Manager, meet Sabina

Starting at the Heart of Care

Six years ago, Sabina joined us at Home Instead Broadstairs, Ramsgate & Margate as a Care Professional, supporting clients to stay independent by supporting them with both personal care and companionship care in the comfort of their own homes. From the very beginning, she showed compassion, professionalism and a great desire to make a difference in people’s lives.

Embracing Every Opportunity

What always stood out was Sabina’s readiness to step forward whenever there was a need for support. Rather than limiting herself to one role, she embraced every opportunity to learn and grow, gaining experience in many areas of Home Instead.

As the company grew, so did Sabina’s responsibilities. She worked in a variety of positions, including Care Professional, Trainer, Deputy Manager and Care Manager.

However, one major turning point was the loss of our Medication Trainer from the team. Sabina took on the training responsibilities herself, recognising the importance of continuity for the team and maintaining high standards of care. Her ability to adapt, learn new skills and support her colleagues showed her natural leadership qualities.

Achieving Registered Manager Status

Sabina’s work ethic, her resolve and her passion to succeed enabled her to progress into management and ultimately become the brilliant Registered Manager she is today.

Today she leads with confidence, empathy and professionalism, supporting both clients, care professionals and colleagues whilst ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained. Her journey is a fantastic example of the opportunities within the care sector, especially here at Home Instead, and what can be achieved through perseverance and dedication.

Making a Difference Beyond Care

As Registered Manager, Sabina continues to thrive. But while her growth within Home Instead is impressive, she has also demonstrated a passion for strengthening local communities through engagement and collaboration in meaningful ways. One of her most recent amazing achievements and proud moments has been organising the Thrive Over 50 Event in Thanet.

The event brought together more than 70 organisations with a shared vision of improving the wellbeing, opportunities and support available for adults aged 50 and over, showing them that life doesn’t stop at 50. By creating a space where community groups, services and other business could connect with local residents, Sabina helped foster stronger community ties and raise awareness of the support across the area.

The event proved to be a huge success, receiving positive feedback from attendees and participating organisations alike. The turnaround was amazing such that there are already plans to make it an annual event, while also exploring opportunities to bring the concept to other areas in the future.

Looking Ahead

Sabina’s journey from Care Professional to Registered Manager demonstrates what can be achieved through passion, hard work and a commitment to helping others. Her willingness to embrace new challenges, step up when needed and make a lasting difference within the community continues to inspire those around her.

As we celebrate her birthday this week, we also celebrate an exceptional leader whose dedication has positively impacted countless lives.
