Introducing Memory Matters Cafe
At Home Instead Derby South, we are excited to introduce a new initiative aimed at supporting our local community. We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our new Memory Cafe, Memory Matters, at Moira Village Hall. This social group is dedicated to those living with dementia or Parkinson’s and their carers, providing a welcoming and supportive environment.
Join us at Memory Matters Cafe! We invite you to come along, join the fun, and share a cup of tea with us at Memory Matters Cafe starting on Tuesday July 16th 2024.
Location and opening details
Where: Moira Village Hall, Ashby Rd, Moira, Swadlincote DE12 6DZ
The group will meet every Tuesday in the village of Moira, just a stone’s throw away from Ashby-de-la-Zouch. Perfectly placed to serve the South Derbyshire and North West Leicestershire communities, Memory Matters will open its doors every Tuesday, starting July 16th, from 11 am to 12 noon.
A friendly and supportive environment
Reflecting our Home Instead ethos of care, respect, and compassion, this social group aims to provide a friendly and safe environment for those living with dementia or Parkinson’s and their carers.
Engaging activities for all
We’re putting the final perfect touches on a range of activities designed to stimulate, engage, and bring some fun and smiles to the day! From crafts, like painting or knitting, to gardening activities or baking sessions, and some light exercise, there will be something for everyone.
Join us to stay active, social and connected, and of course we will have a cup of tea and cake available every week! This holistic approach ensures that there is something for everyone, promoting both physical and mental well-being.
First session free
The first session is a gift from us to you, completely free! Subsequent visits are just £2. We understand that Memory Matters isn’t just a group meetup – it promises to be a much-needed respite during the week, a source of support and connection with others, and a joyful break from the everyday routine underpinned by the comforts of a safe environment.
More community events are planned
We’ll be rolling out more community events in the area South of Derby, and we’re working on new initiatives for later in 2024. Our aim at Home Instead Derby South, is to be more than just a home care provider – a dynamic, compassionate partner in your local community.
