Home care in Overton

Overton is a large village and parish in north Hampshire, about eight miles west of Basingstoke, incorporating the hamlets of Southington, Northington, Ashe, Polhampton and Quidhampton.  It has a population of around 4,500.

Overton has a history of banknote paper manufacturing, and the Overton Mill still produces high security paper for the Bank of England and over 150 other national currencies.  The location of the mill at Quidhampton has been put forward as the origin of the colloquial term “Quid” for £1, but there are several other contenders for that claim to fame.

Overton has a thriving village centre and a strong community spirit.  It is beautiful and tranquil area to live, sitting on the River Test, whose source is just a mile away from the village centre.  It’s not surprising that elderly people in Overton look to Home Instead Basingstoke to provide the support they need to continue living comfortably and independently in their own homes.

We have been providing home care services in Overton since 2015. Here’s how one client’s son in law described our services:

“ First class service when it comes to looking after my mother-in-law, who has dementia. What is great is it is a team effort, with the family and each of the carers brings something different and special to the relationship. The team is always happy to go the extra mile and on a couple of times, we have needed extra support they have been able to accommodate us. Pre-COVID the carers were happy to take “the mother-in-law” on trips to either the hairdressers or garden centre. Genuinely they care about the person they are looking after and importantly we can trust them.”
