The Home Instead Nail Care Launch at Miriam Grace
Learn more about our new Nail Care service and the excellent Miriam Grace Day Care Centre in Bagshot.
Last month, our team launched our Home Instead Nail Care service for Ascot, Camberley and Wokingham. As part of that launch, we reached out to our friends at Miriam Grace in Bagshot, a local Day Care Centre not too far away from our HQ.

We were so pleased to visit our local Day Centre, Miriam Grace, to launch our new Nail Care service. We have a great relationship with the team, as some of our clients visit and always have a fantastic time.
We set up our mini salon on the day and offered free manicures to several male and female clients. It was so lovely to offer such a beneficial service, aiding with hygiene and promoting nail and skin health while spending time in conversation and getting to know the clients.
We filed, buffed, shined and polished our way through the afternoon, finishing every manicure with a lovely hand massage.
The benefits of the massage alone were palpable. Even clients with significantly reduced capacity notably lit up with the physical touch and the feeling of a soothing massage with a mandarin and mint-scented hand cream.
As little as a five-minute hand massage can reduce cortisol levels and produce a physiological relaxation response. For our clients living with dementia, hand massages can also help reduce any agitated behaviour.
Offering this service to clients living at home who struggle to get out and about brings some normalcy to their lives, prioritising their wants and needs. It enables them to relax and unwind in a familiar setting, feeling thoroughly cared for and valued.
What can you expect from our new Nail Care service?
When you book a Nail Care appointment at Home Instead, you’ll receive a home visit from one of our trained Home Care Pros. Your fully personalised appointment can include:
- Full pedicure and manicure services (trimming, filing, cuticle maintenance and more)
- Cleansing your hands and feet
- A relaxing massage for your hands, arms, feet, and lower legs stimulating blood flow and cortisol levels. Finishing with a rich moisturiser.
- And we can finish with some nail polish if you’d like.
The personal care service benefits your ageing loved ones, as decreased mobility often makes nails hard to deal with alone. Regular visits from friendly faces can also provide companionship, which can mean a great deal to those who are becoming less active in the community.
