A question that you may be asking yourself is why choose Home Instead Senior Care Barnsley? What makes our home care different from all the other home care providers in Barnsley?

Quality home care services in Barnsley available for anyone aged 18 or over

The high level of care services we provide is based on sound knowledge and understanding of what people in Barnsley need to maintain their independence in the comfort of their own home. With the support of our CAREGivers we have improved the quality of living for many people in the local area, and have provided a realistic alternative to full time residential care. We regularly monitor our care for the elderly and adopt a 'continuous improvement' approach to go above and beyond to fulfill our clients needs. The Barnsley team provides assurance to both clients and their loved ones that they are being cared for with dignity and respect. Home care is available from a couple of hours a day, all the way up to 24 hours, and is tailored to the needs of the individual, as we are aware that personal circumstances can also create a change in the type of care required.

An award winning care service

We are part of a global organisation (1000 franchises strong) aspiring to change the way that care is delivered to elderly people throughout the UK. We believe a family business with a friendly face and great local knowledge is the best way to deliver high quality care at home in South Yorkshire, to help create sustainable communities inclusive of all ages and disabilities.

The Home Instead Senior Care Barnsley team have been regional finalists in the Great British Care Awards and we were one of five finalists for Home Instead’s CAREGiver of the year awards. We also uphold the standards of the national Home Instead team who were the national winners for the Great British Care awards. Our team has the drive and determination to deliver the highest quality of care for people to remain independent and comfortable in their own homes, for as long as possible, after all there is no place like home.

Home Instead Senior Care Barnsley are also complaint with the health and social care standards set by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) with our last inspection taking place in December 2013. We have always been CQC compliant and are always meeting our own high standards set by Home Instead Senior Care nationwide.

No missed care visits

Clients will always be the ones to determine when they want to receive care and we will guarantee to meet the times in which they would like to receive it. Home Instead Senior Care Barnsley uses an IQ time card system to track when CAREGivers clock in and out of calls; this means we can monitor when the CAREGivers arrive and leave at a clients and also how long they stayed there for, which ensures that clients receive the full time they wanted with their CAREGiver.

High Quality recruitment process and CAREGivers

Our CAREGivers are able to provide high quality care to anyone over the age of 18 who needs our support.  Whether they have a learning disability, a form of dementia or just need a companion, our CAREGivers have had quality training to fulfill the needs of our clients. All of our CAREGivers go through a rigorous recruitment process where we ask for six full references and conduct a full DBS check to ensure that our clients are in safe and capable hands. We are 100% certain that our CAREGivers are both dependable and capable in providing care that you or your loved one need. Our clients love the time they spend with their CAREGivers and even before clients meet their CAREGiver, they are matched to them based on similar personalities and interests, so that a truly organic friendship can develop between them. We personally introduce clients to CAREGivers so they can get to know one another before care even starts, this way we can see if both the clients and CAREGivers will be happy in the same environment. We are currently recruiting CAREGivers for this area, so if you are interested please visit our ‘Vacancies’ section of the website, to see what care jobs are available.

Personal Experience

We have personal experience of the great difficulties faced by older people and their loved ones, that includes the practical and emotional impacts of long term disability. Alzheimer’s and other types of Dementia; these are the things that have affected both mine and Jill’s families. Jill in particular has first-hand experience with the problems faced when an adult becomes unable to manage on their own.

“My Grandfather had dementia and was unable to manage by himself, at the time there were no services available to enable him to stay at home. He was admitted to a residential home where he passed away soon after.  I am convinced, had there been a service to help him in his own home with domestic support such as shopping, cooking  and his personal care, whilst keeping his independence he would have lived a much longer and happier life at home”

We are delighted to be able to provide a non medical care service of exceptional quality for the older people of Barnsley. The work our team carries out has a positive impact not only for the people we care for, but also their families and loved ones. This is so very important to us. The best way to sum up our aim is to say that we only deliver home care in Barnsley that we would be happy for a member of our own family to receive - and that is our promise!

We also provide quality home care in Sheffield South and Sheffield North

Home Instead Senior Care
We were so delighted with Home Instead that we used them twice, for my grandmother and also for my father. Both times, Home Instead visited them at home, talked through their needs, likes, dislikes etc and matched the absolutely ideal carer. We had been advised by friends that there was a good chance it would take a while to find someone to help, with loved ones not taking to carers or carers being unsuitable so we were expecting a tricky time. We were so delighted and unbelievably relieved when we met Jo, who helped my grandmother and aunt (who has learning difficulties). She was so kind, understanding and just brilliant with them both. My Dad had suffered with Parkinsons for a while and it had got to the point where he needed a bit more help. Within a matter of days, Paul had been introduced. My Dad really enjoyed his company and appreciated his sensitive approach to what was a very difficult time in his life. It's not easy accepting a stranger into your home and life but both times, Home Instead got it absolutely right, first time. I couldn't recommend them highly enough. Thank you Home Instead! - Claire F - Barnsley
