Deputy Care Manager – Home Instead Chiswick
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 annually (depending on experience and qualifications) + discretionary annual bonus
Location: Based in Chiswick, covering Ealing, Chiswick, Hammersmith & Fulham
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, with occasional flexibility outside of normal business hours to meet the needs of the business

Job Purpose
To assist in the day-to-day running of the Home Instead office in alignment with the business strategy, policies, and procedures. The Deputy Care Manager supports the Care Manager in delivering high-quality, person-centred care while leading operational teams and developing leadership capability.
The Role
Client Services
· Manage incoming service enquiries and support lead conversion.
· Conduct care consultations, client onboarding, and service reviews.
· Ensure care plans are current, person-centred, and digitally maintained.
· Monitor client satisfaction and manage feedback or complaints sensitively and efficiently.
· Support hospital discharges, including hospital visits and post-discharge planning.
· Coordinate all aspects of client exits, including funerals and exit interviews.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, families, and external professionals.
People Management
· Support the management of Field Care Supervisors and junior office team members.
· Participate in recruitment, onboarding, training, and mentorship of Care Professionals.
· Deliver Care Certificate training and conduct field-based support visits.
· Supervise and appraise Care Professionals and junior key players.
· Contribute to team wellbeing, morale, and staff retention strategies.
· Help manage disciplinary procedures and investigations.
· Coordinate and participate in on-call cover and out-of-hours support when required.
Compliance
· Conduct audits, investigations, and contribute to action planning.
· Ensure compliance with CQC standards and Home Instead policies.
· Proactively escalate safeguarding concerns and mitigate operational risks.
· Participate in governance activities and continuous improvement projects.
Business Development
· Represent Home Instead in community engagement and networking.
· Build relationships with local professionals, including RPNs and NHS partners.
· Support fundraising, promotional events, and community outreach.
Leadership and Delegation
· Act as the designated lead in the absence of the Care Manager, ensuring smooth operational oversight and service continuity.

Essential Criteria
· NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social Care (or working towards it), or equivalent leadership and management qualification in care.
· Extensive experience in the care sector with hands-on delivery of personal care.
· Supervisory experience, including conducting audits and managing MAR/eMAR.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
· Strong working knowledge of care planning systems and digital records.
· Passion for delivering exceptional, person-centred care.
· Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
· Organised, proactive, and adaptable to business demands.
· Sound understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding, and health & social care legislation.
