The Role of a Care Pro
No two days are the same at Home Instead Cuffley, Cheshunt & Harlow. Our Care Pros get to meet so many different people including those in our older community. They get to hear and learn from their amazing stories and backgrounds while helping them stay safe and cared for at home.
Our visit times are a minimum of one hour so our Care Pros can build a lasting relationship with their clients and provide bespoke care.
Whether it’s accompanying a client on a daily walk, supporting with personal care, medication reminders, meal preparation or home help our Care Pros enable clients to live their life to the fullest. With our support clients can stay in their own homes where they have spent a lifetime creating memories.

Support and Training
As well as the excellent in-house training provided to all of our Care Pros before they visit clients, we support our team in the field and conduct competency assessments to ensure safety and best practices are being followed when administering medication, using equipment and delivering care to our clients. We ensure all new employees achieve the Care Certificate, which is an industry recognised qualification, and provides evidence that staff are competent to deliver support. We do this by performing a series of knowledge checks and observations. Staff are deemed to have achieved the Care Certificate when all 15 elements of the care standards have been met and evidenced.

Continuing Staff Development
At Home Instead Cuffley, Cheshunt & Harlow, we believe strongly that continuing staff development is the key to the outstanding support we and our staff are proud to provide. We offer City and Guilds accredited Dementia training to our Care Pros as well as additional and on-going training to support when when they are caring for clients with specific needs.

A Blended Approach
Our training is delivered in workshops and gives staff the opportunity to discuss any queries or concerns they may have in an interactive and supportive learning environment. Our Care Professionals also have access to an eLearning platform that includes many interesting topics and enables Home Instead Cuffley, Cheshunt & Harlow to tailor our Care Professionals’ knowledge to any specialised needs that a client may have. We also provide our staff with mandatory annual refresher sessions such as Manual Handling, Safeguarding of Adults and Medication administration.

Training and Learning is important and offers support and confidence to those providing care, it allows Care Professionals to deliver the highest level of service and gain a sense of achievement and reward for the care that they are providing.
When you have well-trained, confident and professional members of staff delivering support, it allows clients to have full trust and confidence in their Care Professionals and gives clients and their families the ability to relax and enjoy their visits in the knowledge that the goal of their Care Professional is to provide an outstanding, positive and caring service.

Staff Support
We strive to ensure that our Care Pros are well-prepared and confident in delivering exceptional care, thanks to the hard work of our dedicated office team. The office team is consistently accessible to offer guidance and support, ensuring that every Care Pro feels assured and appreciated in their position.

Requirements
We don’t require any formal qualifications at Home Instead Cuffley, Cheshunt & Harlow as we provide you with the necessary training.
The only requirements we have are:
- A genuine desire to help others
- A kind, compassionate and understanding demeanour
- Good communication skills
- A full UK drivers licence and access to a reliable vehicle
No previous care experience is necessary.
