Hello, and welcome to Home Instead Senior Care Dudley & Sandwell South. Our aim is to be the most respected and trusted provider of home care for older people in the Black Country, by providing unsurpassed quality services which has, at its core, the needs of the clients.
Myself, my wife, Julie, and our friend and colleague, Susan Love, opened the Dudley & Sandwell South office of Home Instead Senior Care in August 2012. Julie & Susan are both Registered General Nurses and have over 55 years experience of caring between them.
The three of us have also reached the age where our own parents and other relatives are needing more support and assistance with their day to day living; we all also have children, Susan has 2 sons and Julie and I have 2 daughters all in their 20s. We are very much part of the 'sandwich generation' and completely understand the joys, rewards, pressures & frustrations that being the 'filling' in this particular sandwich can bring.
We were also feeling a little jaded by our previous employment and wanted the final years of our working life to be of real value and genuinely make a difference to the lives of people in our local community. We also wanted to be able to make our own decisions and be the kind of employer we would like to work for. Home Instead's ethos of high quality, holistic, personalised, flexible, care provision; their mission to 'change the face of ageing'; and ethical business philosophy, has meant that we have been able to achieve just that. It honestly is the best job we have ever had!
For many older people home care is just about making life easier, sometimes, something as simple as shopping, preparing meals and general help around the home is all it takes, for others it may be having some extra company or support with their personal care or daily living. The key to providing a quality service is to fully understand the needs of the client. We will listen to our clients and their family, take into account their likes and dislikes, in order to provide the services they want, so that they get the care they need. Our care services are not a 'one size fits all', they are designed to promote independence, maintain the dignity and self respect of older people so that they can remain safely in their own home for as long as possible.
We know that the roles, relationships and dynamics within a family change when loved ones become ill, elderly or sometimes, just lonely. We know the issues this can raise, the changes which need to be accepted, and the difficult decisions which need to be made as a result.
We'd like you to know that we can help.
