Courtyard Coffee Shop

The Courtyard Coffee Shop is a family-run café in Uckfield, known for its community spirit and welcoming atmosphere. Many pensioners visit and enjoy a friendly chat with the staff. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options with good portions sizes and good prices too.

Outdoor seating available which offers a sun trap during the mornings of the warmer months. Open Monday-Saturday, 8am to 5pm. Closed Sunday. Toilets available for customers. Near to free parking and just opposite the Uckfield High Street bus stop on the 28 and 29 bus route.

Frankie’s Beach Café

Frankie’s Beach Café is a cute little beach kiosk on Seaford seafront, with outdoor seating and a small but tasty menu. There are toasties, cake, ice cream and hot drinks. There are also some deck chairs on the beach in front where you can sit and chat and watch the waves lap, or crash, onto the pebbles. You may be resting after a short walk along the prom prom prom…

Very friendly service. It is wheelchair accessible, and parking is available in West Street car park three minutes’ walk away, or further along the esplanade. Open seven days a week, 10am to 5pm.

The Pantry

The Pantry is a gem of an independent village café/tea room in Newick. Serving lunch, as well as breakfast and brunch, plus hot and cold drinks and delicious homemade cakes. Vegetarian and vegan options are available.  Quick and friendly service, comfortable and relaxing atmosphere.

A few tables are available for seating outside and there is a toilet available for customers. Open Monday-Friday, 8.30am-4pm, and Saturdays 9am to 3pm. Closed on Sunday. Parking on the green, just a few minutes walk away.

Daisy’s Tea Rooms

Daisy’s Tea Rooms is just outside of Lewes, and is part of the Encryption Escape Rooms. Serving a variety of fresh foods with daily specials, cakes and cream teas throughout the week. Friendly service, tasty food and reasonable prices.

With stunning panoramic views of the South Downs, both indoor and outdoor seating are available, and is dog friendly too. Parking available and wheelchair accessible. Open Wednesday-Sunday, 9.30am to 2.30pm.

The Green Man

The Green Man pub in Ringmer is a good choice for a lunch out. Friendly staff, great service, and a nice atmosphere. The food menu is extensive, including classic pub food and snacks, with big portion sizes. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options.

Open seven days a week, Monday-Saturday, 11am to 11pm and Sundays 11.30am to 10.30pm. Seating is available outside and the pub’s restaurant area is wheelchair accessible. Plenty of parking right outside.
