The East Northamptonshire office provides award winning at home care to people living in North and East Northamptonshire and North Bedfordshire, allowing them to remain independent, and to continue to live with dignity in their own homes. The main towns serviced are Rushden/Higham Ferrers, Wellingborough and Kettering, and the territory also includes all the other surrounding towns and villages. The office is owned and operated by Rosina and Mark Darnell.
Mark is an Accountant and General Manager by background, whilst Rosina trained to be a nurse and has had many years of experience caring for her parents and family. They chose the leading domiciliary care franchise Home Instead Senior Care, having been attracted to the business model and ethos. They believe that their collaborative skills in care and management are an ideal combination to provide a high quality service to older and disabled people in East Northants. The business employs its own well vetted CAREGivers, who are selected for their empathetic and respectful approach to the elderly, reliability, and willingness to match their valuable skills with the excellent training that Home Instead Senior Care provides.
The East Northants office is based in Higham Ferrers on the Moulton College site, adjacent to the A6 and close to the A45. The East Northants office is part of a global network of more than 1,000 locally owned and operated offices. The office is registered and therefore licensed to provide personal care services by the Care Quality Commission (Provider ID 1-127572044).
We are different to many other care companies and agencies in that we will not enter into block contracts with the Local Authority, which forces providers into delivering care in short time periods, whereas our normal minimum care visit is for one hour. Our care plans are built on the requests of our clients and their families - not just checklists of tasks which need to be carried out. We offer continuity of care by allocating, wherever possible, the same CAREGivers to our clients, which then ensures that a relationship can be developed, and dignity is maintained. Since 2005 Home Instead Senior Care has grown to 150 offices across the UK, which demonstrates that there is a demand for an alternative, flexible type of personal care, which is based on the needs of the individual and that is exactly the kind of service that we deliver. Our staff are all fully Criminal Records Bureau checked and have to provide us with SIX acceptable personal and professional references.
We are delighted to be able to provide a non-medical service of exceptional quality for the older and disabled people of the community where we live. The work that we carry out has a positive impact, not only on the people we look after, but also their families. The best way to sum up our aim is to say that we will only deliver home care services that we would be happy for a member of our families to receive.
Our clients include individuals who have approached us themselves, children and grandchildren who have referred their parents or relatives, people who receive direct payments from the Local Authority, and clients referred to us by NHS Clinical Commissioning Groups. Regardless of how you come to us it is our goal to provide the same level of care we would want for our families.
We are viewed as a high quality and lower cost alternative to a nursing or residential home, and nationally we have won numerous domiciliary care awards for the in home care that we provide. We also specialise in cases of disablement, all forms of dementia and palliative care, with staff who are properly trained to help clients with these particular needs. It is also possible for us to provide respite care in the home in the light of someone seeking a holiday or break. We are a people centred organisation and we look forward to helping you or a loved one continue to lead an independent life. Our office is open on weekdays from 8.30am until 6PM and you are welcome to pay us a visit, or we will happily visit you in your own home to carry out a no obligation assessment. We are also contactable on our main office telephone number - 01933 358708, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, including all public holidays. We are extremely proud of our staff and achievements after only 3 years in becoming a Regional Semi-Finalist in the BFA Franchisee of the Year Awards in 2012, and also a Regional Finalist in the Great British Care Awards in the same year.
