Phil and Amy know from experience what a tough decision it can be choosing which care agency to trust with looking after aging loved ones. In 2010, Phil's Great Aunt, based in Yorkshire, was in need of home care after a fall in the home:
"Having been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease many years earlier, we had already seen the benefits of home care; but the reliability, flexibility and continuity of care hadn't really been up to scratch".
Like many older people, going into a care home was the least favoured option and all that was really required was some extra care and support to remain safely and happily at home. Over time, it also became clear that some form of specialist dementia care could be beneficial. That's when Phil and Amy first discovered Home Instead, and they just knew they had to get involved when they saw the quality of care and support they could provide.
"We saw that the compassionate, personalised approach to care was unique and that the quality of its community based care services was its number one priority. This was something we felt very passionate about".
Fast forward two years and the husband and wife team opened the Peterborough office, also serving Market Deeping, Oundle and surrounding villages. The standard of care that we provide is only as good as our CAREGivers and they are the lifeblood of Home Instead Senior Care.
"We choose our CAREGivers for their compassion, reliability and empathy. We also look at their particular interests so that we can carefully match our clients and CAREGivers one to one. All of our CAREGivers are fully trained to ensure they have the specific skills and approach we require. We also thoroughly vet all CAREGivers, undertake a CRB check and we are uncompromising in our insistence for six references".
