1960s Reminiscence at Chepstow Hospital Memory Cafe

1960s Reminiscence at Chepstow Hospital Memory Cafe

In March, our activity was music and reminisce and in April we used the Monmouthshire Museums 1960s Memory Box to share our life stories and experiences from the 60s.  Memory Boxes contain items that the museum have collected and have been donated and are from different decades or themes and can evoke memories and stimulate cognitive function.  Our group members were challenged to bring in a personal item and a story to share.  One of our members brought in his scouting blanket adorned with all the badges he had earned as a child; this person subsequently went on to a rewarding high command in the Royal Navy. Special guests attending were Ken Vowles from Dementia UK and Iconnect the digital Inclusion project from Monmouthshire Housing Association.
