SOCIAL CARE NEWS PROGRAMME
Welcome to Home Instead Senior Care, Isle of Man.
The business is owned and managed by Phil and Emer Wiseman, who were inspired to start this business when in 2011, Emer's mother had a fall at home and severely bruised her shin bones and broke her wrist. At 78, living in her own house; she had been very active and independent up to this point and was very keen on staying at home, albeit with some help. The family soon realised how difficult it was to find reliable, compassionate care and support for their mum. It was this experience that led the couple to set up Home Instead Senior Care on the island, so that they could help families like their own.
Home Instead is a worldwide company, and including the Isle of Man, has more than 140 offices in the UK. Its aim is "To become the UK’s most admired care company through changing the face of ageing"' and it is our passion to fulfil that aim here on the island.
For our clients, staying at home for longer can be made possible by quite small, but very significant measures and we pride ourselves in offering a bespoke service for each client. Whether that be a couple of hours a week in companionship, a few visits a week for home help or providing care for more significant non-medical matters. Our visits will never be rushed.
We strive to provide each client with the same regular caregiver, so that friendships blossom and trust flourishes. As owners, we meet with client and family, to discuss what is needed, and to put together a bespoke care plan for that client; we support all family members throughout. We are passionate about doing what we say we will do, about reliability and about responding to our client's and their family's needs.
You can follow the link to Our Care Services to find an extensive, but not exhaustive, list of how we can help. Our aim is to build a local company, employing and training local caregivers who have a heart for caring for the elderly. We only employ part-time people who visit a small number of clients each week, and we especially welcome applications from mature members of our communities.
