SOCIAL CARE NEWS PROGRAMME
Welcome to Home Instead Senior Care, Isle of Man.
The business is owned and managed by local couple Phil and Emer Wiseman who believe that quality, person centred care is at the heart of their business. The business started in 2013 after Emer and her siblings found themselves looking for care for their mother who, at 78, was living in her own house and determined to remain independent, but accepting that she could do with a little bit of help. The family soon realised how difficult it was to find reliable, compassionate care and support for their mum. It was this experience that resulted in Phil and Emer setting Home Instead Senior Care on the island, so that they could help families like their own.
Home Instead is a worldwide company, and including the Isle of Man, has more than 140 offices in the UK. Its aim is "To become the UK’s most admired care company through changing the face of ageing"' and it is our passion to fulfil that aim here on the island.
For our clients, staying at home for longer can be made possible by quite small, but very significant measures and we pride ourselves in offering a bespoke service for each client. Our visits will never be rushed and we visit for a minimum of 1 hour; any less and in our view the care is task-driven, not person-centred.
Our CAREGivers are selected for their compassion, empathy and caring nature, after that they receive comprehensive induction training and are fully vetted. We are the only island care provider to provide a City & Guilds course in Alzheimer's and Dementia care for all our caregivers. We strive to provide each client with the same regular CAREGiver, so that friendships blossom and trust flourishes. We always have a replacement CAREGiver available should the need arise. Owner Emer visits for an initial care consultation; we consider it is important to support all family members throughout this sometimes challenging journey. We are passionate about doing what we say we will do, about reliability and about responding to our client's and their family's needs. If you would like us to come along and see how we can make a difference, call for an informal chat on 822545. You can follow the link to Our Care Services to find an extensive, but not exhaustive, list of how we can help.
We continue to build a local company, employing and training local CAREGivers who have a heart for caring for the elderly. Our team are all part-time, they visit a small number of clients each week, and we especially welcome applications from mature members of our communities. We encourage our staff to take a health and social care QCF qualification, at level 3. To register your interest in becoming a CAREGiver, call us or click on Vacancies.
