Steve and Jan Gapper

Welcome to Home Instead Central Hampshire.

We are Steve and Jan Gapper and we head up the team at the Central Hampshire office of Home Instead Senior Care covering Winchester, Alresford, Chandler's Ford and Eastleigh. We run the office ourselves on a day to day basis with Jan acting as Director of Care.

Jan is a qualified Occupational Therapist and has worked with older people both in the NHS and in a care home. She has seen first-hand how flexible and responsive quality care can positively impact a person’s well-being. This is exactly the kind of service we deliver in Winchester, Alresford, Eastleigh, Chandlers Ford and surrounding areas.

We are delighted to be able to provide a non-medical care service of exceptional quality for the older people of the community in which we live. The work our team carries out has a positive impact, not only on the people we provide care for, but also on their families and this is very important to us.

Our aim is to deliver home care services that we would be happy for a member of our family to receive and we do this by training our team to ensure we deliver the highest standard and quality of care and our service is the best it can be. We are delighted that, since we started in 2011, most of our clients have come to us as the result of a personal recommendation from an existing client, their family or a health professional.

What sets us apart from most other care providers is that we spend a minimum of an hour with each client on every visit, we agree a time for our visit and turn up at that time. We match the CAREGiver to the client and then undertake a personal introduction. Because the same small group of CAREGivers visit the client on a regular basis they are able to get to know each other really well which from feedback we know is really important.

Our clients come to us in many ways. Some people come to us themselves; others are introduced by their children or relatives and some clients are referred to us by Social Services, the hospital and GPs. Regardless of how you come to Home Instead, it is our goal to provide the same level of care.

Since 2013 we have been running a City & Guilds Alzheimer’s training course for our CAREGivers and offering free Dementia Training Workshops for the public as we believe that by doing so we can help people caring for family or friends with dementia.  We will continue the CAREGiver training and the free workshops in the future.

Our new office at Construct House, Winchester Road, Alresford is open and friendly and you are more than welcome to pay us a visit at any time for a cup of tea and a chat.

Whether you are enquiring about care in the home or you are interested in joining our compassionate and dependable team of CAREGivers, please call us on 01962 736681.

Both of us were impressed by the care and help given by Julie and Karen and Mum stressed how much she had enjoyed talking to them both. We will have no hesitation in availing ourselves of your services if the need should arise again. - Mrs RS
