Meet Our CAREGivers

Pictured are some of our wonderful team of CAREGivers. We feel privileged to have such dedicated and reliable people supporting our clients with care and compassion so that they can maintain their independence at home. Each of our CAREGivers has qualities and strengths which they bring to their work, as well as their experience of caring for others.

One of our lovely CAREGiver's, Elaine, was recently featured in the Wetherby News for her kind and caring nature towards older people. Elaine said, "Being a caregiver is wonderful. I am really happy in my role and I couldn’t tell you the best part about my job; I love the whole package. I enjoy the variety of my job and I find it both interesting and rewarding. All of my clients have a story to tell and when I walk through the door, their faces light up. I love what I do and I wouldn’t change it for anything!”

Rebecca Abbott - Care Manager

I’ve worked in the care industry for 5 years, gaining a lot of experience, and joined Home Instead because I believe in the values and culture of the company.

It’s incredibly important to me that we provide the highest quality care to our clients. My role is incredibly rewarding, I work closely with our clients to create their package so they receive the care they want at a time that suits them. I keep in regular contact with our clients and their families too, to ensure they’re happy with our service.

I’m currently working towards my NVQ level 5 in Care Management which will help me further in my role.

Following twenty years working within aviation then a further five in the banking sector, I decided I would like a change of career. As soon as I met with Simon and learnt more about Home Instead I knew this was the direction I wanted to take. I love being in an industry that makes a difference!

I'm passionate about the culture and values of the company and enjoy being in a role where not only can I indulge my passion for recruitment but I can select the right staff to deliver the very best in senior care.

Outside of work I love to travel, spend time with family and friends and walking my dog. 

Jenny Mizen - Care Coordinator

Jenny Mizen - Care Coordinator

I initially worked as a CAREGiver with Home Instead Senior Care which I really enjoyed! After 5 years as a CAREGiver, I joined the Wetherby team as the Care Coordinator.

I really get to know our CAREGiver's and clients as I'm responsible for matching them together based on mutual interests, so they can build strong relationships. I also coordinate schedules to fit around clients wants and needs. I am very proud of my Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care and am excited to start my Level 5!

I am very family orientated, so when I'm not working I love to spend time with my husband and daughter.

I’ve worked in the care industry for 27 years, starting my career as a nurse in the the NHS where I had remained until I decided to leave to pursue a career at Home Instead Senior Care. I strongly believe in the values of the company and have a great respect for the culture of the company. My role as Care Co-ordinator allows me to work closely with our clients and CAREGivers to ensure a high quality of care is achieved and to help our clients remain independent within their own home.

Outside of work I enjoy reading, spending time with family and friends and travel.

Lucy Partridge - Scheduler

Lucy Partridge - Scheduler

Having spent many years working in retail, I decided I wanted to pursue my passion in helping and caring for others. I strongly believe in the culture and values of Home Instead Senior Care which is why I initially joined as a Caregiver which I loved! One year later, I joined the Wetherby office team as the Scheduler.

It's my responsibility to help establish strong relationships between clients and caregivers by carefully matching them based on similar interests and personalities. I also coordinate schedules to fit in with clients’ preferences.

I am currently working towards my Level 2 NVQ in Health and Social Care, and in my spare time I love to go out with my friends and travel to Edinburgh to see my family.

Heather Welsh - Community Services Representative

Heather Welsh - Community Services Representative

Before I joined Home Instead Senior Care I was a Business Development Manager for a business providing health insurance. I joined Home Instead in 2014 as a CAREGiver and Community Service representative, as I really wanted to make a difference to people's lives and be able to promote this in the local community.

It’s my role to raise awareness of Home Instead in Wetherby and the surrounding areas, by attending events and talking to people about opportunities to join the team. I also attend a number of dementia cafes and teach Chairobics weekly in Wetherby for the over 60's.

In my spare time I am a keen horse lover and enjoy walking my rescue dog.

Gemma Berry - Office Administrator

Gemma Berry - Office Administrator

Before joining Home Instead Senior Care, I worked as a Sales Manager in fashion. I joined Home Instead just over 2 years ago as an Office Administrator because I feel very passionate about the care industry and find it very rewarding to be able to help others.

I am responsible for the day to day administration in our office, including the organising of client/CAREGiver files, and being part of the recruitment process.

Lyndsey Burton - Field Supervisor/CAREGiver

Having worked in the care industry for over 25 years and having gained lots of valuable experience in this time, I joined Home Instead Senior Care just over 4 years ago as a CAREGiver which I enjoy very much! I wanted to be part of this company as it is very important to me to deliver high quality person-centred care, and Home Instead definitely provides this.   

I also work as the Field Supervisor which allows me to see both sides of the company by going out and delivering care to clients, and by overlooking clients and their families to make sure they are pleased with our services. As well as this, I work very closely with the CAREGivers to make sure they are happy and comfortable in their job roles.  

I hold a Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care and I'm really looking forward to working towards my Level 3!

Simon White - Director

Simon White - Director

Following 35 years of business experience in corporate roles with well- known brands working largely in the retail sector, I wanted to do something that would make a difference.

After experiencing the difficulty of finding high quality care for my immediate family, I very much value the approach to senior care and independence that Home Instead offers so I joined the Home Instead Senior Care Wetherby office in 2016. My role is to lead the Wetherby & North Leeds team, spread the word about the Home Instead experience, and run the business aspects of the operation.
