The Weston Super Mare Team
Our brilliant team of CAREGivers come from a wide range of backgrounds and with their varied life experiences, each bring their own character to the care of our Clients. Our CAREGivers are what makes Home Instead an exceptional home care provider, without them we would not be given the awards and recognition we have.
Each CAREGiver is carefully selected for their empathy and compassion and matched individually to the personality and interests of the Clients they assist. By drawing on the CAREGivers compassion and genuine desire to support members of their community, we can assure our clients that they have chosen the right company to provide excellent care.
Mike Keig - Managing Director
I am proud to be associated with Home Instead as Managing Director of the Weston-Super-Mare branch.
My career background has been in Engineering, and Sales Management. We moved to Bristol in 2003 for me to take a position as General Manager for company of 30 employees making furnaces and industrial ovens. I enjoyed this General Management position hugely as I’ve always been extremely passionate about supporting and developing a team for both the benefit of the company and an individual’s progression.
My passion for the Care Sector, however, particularly for the elderly, is rooted way back before I started my Engineering career. I was born and grew up in a residential home in Tavistock in Devon. My Mum ran it as a hotel and provided a fantastic experience for everyone that lived with us. I remember there was never a vacant room and a significant waiting list! My Mum is 90 this year, and loves the fact that with local support she is still living in Devon on her own, in her own house. She is the underlying inspiration for my want to run this business.
Luisa Keig – Finance Director
Following a career in graphic design and marketing, in 2010 I retrained as a cost and finance manager and have been running a successful cost management business ever since. So, although my role as a Finance Director seems a natural progression, the care sector is a departure for me. I am loving the industry though - feeling like we are really making a difference to people’s lives, every day, in everything we do, is wonderful! With a large extended family in Italy, where 3 generations within my family pretty much all still live with each other under one roof, life is extremely focused on keeping the older generations close, and at home. To be working with a company so focused on enabling others to do just that is very precious to me.
While the rest of our fantastic team are busy managing and co-ordinating our service, and our CAREGivers providing first-rate care, I see my role as ensuring the smooth running of the financial side of Home Instead and providing our client’s and CAREGivers clarity of information.
Vicky Lodge - Care Manager
Hello and welcome to our website. I am very happy to be working with Mike and Luisa in my home town and local community. I have worked in domiciliary care for many years now, during which time I have had a number of different roles, latterly working at the Home Instead office in Bristol. I am totally committed to providing a high quality care service that is responsive, reliable and that enables and encourages our clients to remain independent in their own homes for as long as possible.
I live in Weston with my partner Charlie and our two daughters Ella and Leila and our grandson Levi. I spend my spare time mostly with my family and friends. I love the outdoors and enjoy walking our dogs (two naughty Beagles) and gardening. I also love eating out and shopping – mostly for shoes!!!
Connie - Training and Retention
Hi all, I have now been at Home Instead for almost four years, where has the time gone!? Lots of new challenges but all good ones. I have met lots of other colleagues from other franchises in regard to Training and Development, had a wonderful time at our Annual Conference as well as keeping up to date with my own training, which was rewarded this year by me winning an award for Outstanding Commitment to Learning and Development from Care Focus South West.
My role is to keep our CAREGivers up to date with their on-going training, encourage and support them through their Diploma's in Health & Social Care, expand their knowledge and skills in Dementia and be a cheerful and friendly face when they come into the office.
I live in Wells, but the travel to work everyday is worth it.
Lucy - Recruitment Coordinator
Hello, I've been working for Home Instead since May 2014 and I am thoroughly enjoying being part of a fantastic team.
After I had qualified working with children and young people, I felt I still needed to find a career path I could become passionate about. I then found Home Instead and fell in love with what the company stood for.
In the three years I have been here I have grown and developed within the company and am now the Recruitment Coordinator.
I have met some incredible people and I am passionate about continually making a difference to our client's lives.
Home Instead is a fantastic company to work for and I can't wait to see what the future holds.
Mathew - Care Co-ordinator
Hi I'm Mat,
I started working at Home Instead in 2015 as a CAREGiver, I then got the opportunity to apply for the role as Care Co-Ordinator a few months later.
My background involves working with children of all ages in schools, nurseries and pre-schools, i gained a level 3 in childcare and have since gone onto achieving a level 3 in health and social care.
I am very much a people person and my aim is to help make a positive difference in peoples lives, and as a Care Co-Ordinator this is something that fulfills my desire to help others.
For me my job role is about making sure everyone receives the highest level of care possible, making sure everyone is happy, they feel important and that they feel part of a growing family.
In my spare time i enjoy shopping, eating, spending time with friends and of course working here at Home Instead.
Nikki - Administrator
Hi, my name is Nikki. I joined the team as the Administrator in August 2016. I am really enjoying my role, every day is interesting and I am pleased to be involved with Home Instead because of their great company values, and excellent reputation.
If you ring the office, it will probably be me that you speak to first! My role also includes organising fund raising events, integrating us with the local community, keeping our social media accounts up to date and producing our company newsletter.
Previously, I have worked as a Senior Care Assistant for 5 years, and most recently a QCF Diploma Assessor. I live locally in Weston. Hobbies include anything creative, belly dancing, home improvements, gardening and outdoor activities.
Home Instead helped me in my hour of need - thank you for your help. The CAREGiver carried out her 'duties' perfectly and was a pleasure to have in our home. I would certainly recommend your services to anyone - Mr Y (Worle)Mr Y (Worle)
