Changing the face of homecare in Westminster

Now clients and CAREGivers in London have given the unique model a huge vote of confidence – as both a homecare provider and an employer in turn - 96% of clients would recommend Home Instead, 97% of CAREGivers are proud to work for the company and 93% of CAREGivers say they are given enough time to deliver the desired levels of care to clients.

Home Instead believes the new independent research, carried out in June this year, is living proof that there is a better way to deliver homecare*.

What clients said:

  • 91% say their CAREGiver goes the extra mile to make a positive difference to their life
  • 94% say their CAREGiver was properly introduced before they started working with them
  • 96% rate the quality of the service as good or excellent

Delighted with the findings, Fred Owner of Home Instead Westminster, said: “We are committed to providing only the very best care and companionship to our clients and it is good to know that we are getting it right. We take time to care, both for our clients and our CAREGivers. It’s good to know that we are getting it right in their eyes too.

“Our calls are a minimum of one hour because we believe quality care can’t be delivered in less. And we make sure that our clients are well matched to their CAREGivers based on mutual interests. The survey results demonstrate just how important this is, as 97% of clients agreed that their CAREGiver is matched to their needs and 96% feel their CAREGiver takes an interest in them as a person. We believe relationship-led homecare has to have these core principles at its heart.

“But changing the face of homecare isn’t just about our clients. It is also about our CAREGivers, the incredible people who go the extra mile each and every day caring for their clients, special people who are recruited for their empathy and compassion.”

The results show that CAREGivers feel valued, respected and part of the bespoke Home Instead ethos: 94% understood why Home Instead is different from other care companies, 93% say they are given enough time to deliver desired levels of care to clients, 97% would recommend Home Instead to a friend or family member as a place to work, 97% would recommend its services to friend.

Professional, efficient, caring, brilliant. I do not live near to my sister-in-law, although I was visiting as much as possible, using Homecare Instead made a difficult period very easy to manage. I do not know how we would have coped without them. As we needed more help, it was arranged seamlessly, my sister-in-law could remain at home, safe, looked after and cared for. By intelligent people who could be real companions, good for a chat, but also to sort the shopping, cooking, and all manner of things. This agency really does what it says!

The gentleness and resourcefulness of Jason, Adrian and John kept Dad stimulated, entertained and generally content. My mother-in-law came to live with us at Christmas. We needed help for her - to provide companionship and outings. She has dementia (early!) but is not very mobile and needs assistance. My father's companion has been little short of a "God send". During his visits, he has not only engaged my father in conversation but has been extremly creative in finding things to do which have included trips to the park and to local museums and art galleries, reading along with my father and persuading to do so as well. On the night of the carer's duty she, Susan, and Wimbai the Care Manager who accompanied her, were faced with an extremely critical and totally unexpected situation. Taking charge they handled the matter responsibly and professionally ensuring that their patient was delivered safely into the very necessary care of the medical team at University College Hospital, London.
